History maintained its course as Black Mamba from Kaloleni cruised to the quarter finals of the Sportpesa sponsored 40th edition of the annual Kothbiro football tournament after beating fancied Umeme Bees from Ziwani by a solitary goal. In the 40 years of Kothbiro, the Bees have never beaten Black Mamba.

After a month long of exciting group matches, 34 teams bowed out of the Annual Kothbiro Football Tournament 40th edition and 16 teams remained to battle it out in the round of 16 knock-outs.
