Flats Tornadoes have bowed out of the tournament after battling hard against a star studded Pumwani All Stars. The Tornadoes camp had internal issues with some of their key players being left out of the starting line-up. The next issue was the quality of balls and both teams refused to play with the available balls. This was settled with provision of better quality balls. The first half was all colorful and fireworks with both sides missing out on clear chances.
A few minutes into the second half, Athman Buki’s shot got deflected by a Tornadoes defender and the ball lay calmy at the back of the net. Flats came out stronger afterwards but all their efforts were thwarted by the theatricals and experience from Pumwani. It was an exciting match and Tornadoes were knocked out with their heads held high. Pumwani All Stars fielded a very strong team with most of their key players back on the team. We congratulate them as they set a date for the quarter finals.
